Yellow Cedar

One of the most valued timbers in the world. Those craftsmen who have worked with it have all come back for more. The moderate hardness and extraordinary evenness of grain makes it easy to work with. Yellow cedar gives a silky smooth knife finish, it’s simply a delight to work with. It is easy to glue and nails and screws hold well. It is extremely dimensionally stable and durable, the timber of choice for the temples of Japan, the oldest wooden structures in the world.
